How long have you been in the industry?
I worked in real estate back home in Belfast for a year, I was actually offered a job with Foxtons in London but I decided to make the big move to Dubai instead. I started with Espace in 2015.
Which areas do you specialise in?
I specialise in Emirates Living with a focus on The Meadows and The Springs these two areas are really my bread and butter.
How would you describe the current property market?
There is still a lot of transactions happening, they are just mostly below the AED 5,000,000 mark. This means us agents have to work a bit harder and make more transactions compared to how it used to be when you could make less transactions but at bigger prices.
Tell me about your big achievement – last month’s massive sales!
I had six separate transactions, two five bedroom villas in The Meadows and three of the larger homes in The Springs. The sixth sales was one I had been working on for six months, a penthouse in Tiara Residence on the Palm. This was sold to a high profile European footballer.
How do you tailor your approach so you set yourself apart?
Repetition, follow the same format for every sale and always provide feedback.
Where do you find most of your leads come from?
For us Propertyfinder is the biggest lead generator, Verified Listings is a great initiative! Our kiosks in The Meadows and The Springs town centres are also a great way for our clients to get in touch.
Which nationalities are your biggest clients?
Buyers are mainly, Indian, Iranian or British and I would say in that order.
What’s your favourite vacation you’ve taken since living in the UAE?
In 2016 and 2018 Espace took their highest achievers to Vegas and put us up in an all inclusive hotel.
What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekend?
I love a brunch, but I also love to be active, I really try to maximise my spare time as I work on Saturdays.
If you had 2 million dirhams to invest in real estate, where would you put your money?
I’d buy within one of my key communities, one of the lower end priced properties with a view to renovating the house for myself to live in – these areas also have low service charges which is also a plus.
If you didn’t work in real estate, what career would you pursue?
When I was growing up I dreamt of playing professional rugby, if you’re granting wishes ?
If you could ask UAE’s Ministry of State for Happiness for one thing, what would you request?
