Do you need a property valuation?

SPEAK WITH US

Bills are a massive part of being a homeowner and in Dubai there are a number of monthly bills you will have to pay. Keeping track of everything you need to pay each month can be a difficult task, which is why we’ve put together everything you need to know about your monthly utility bills in Dubai.

DEWA

DEWA is one of the most important bills to remember. They are the only provider of water, electricity and sewerage in Dubai, so everything important in your house.

There are a number of different ways you can pay your monthly bills, including mPay app, pay online, set up a direct debit payment, pay at one of DEWA’s service centres or even at some petrol stations.

New tenants/owners will need to pay a refundable deposit of AED 4,000 for a villa and AED 2,000 for an apartment. You will also be charged a monthly housing fee. If you are renting the property you will be required to pay 5% of your annual rent. If you are the property’s owner then you will be charged 5% of the property’s rental value. There is no housing fee for AUE nationals.

TV and Internet

There are only 2 providers for TV and Internet in Dubai: du and Etisalat. You cannot pick who your provider is as it will depend on the area you live in.

You can set up accounts with your local provider by either filling out a form online or at one of their branches.

You can find a range of different packages to fit your needs from both suppliers; meaning no matter where you live in Dubai you can still get the best deals.

There is no need to leave the house to pay your TV and Internet bills as you are able to pay both du and Etisalat bills online.

Lootah BCGas

In Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Village Triangle and Circle gas is provided by Lootah BCGas. Just like many other bills you can pay your bills online or even at Al Ansari Exchange or via bank transfer.

Air Conditioning

It can be a challenge remaining cool in Dubai, which is why paying for your air conditioning on time, is so important.

Air Conditioning is either provided by Empower or Palm District Cooling (which is run by Empower). Palm District Cooling provide AC units to apartments on the Palm Island. You will find air conditioning provided by Empower in developments across the city.

You can either register for Palm District Cooling online or in person at their Customer Service Department in Almas Tower, Jumeirah Lake Towers. To register online simply download the registration form, complete and sign then email the scanned copy back. You will also need to attach proof of payment to the email.

Empower only allows you to register in person at one of their three locations: Al Hudaiba Awards building, Business Bay and Jumeirah Beach Residence. Before you go to register you will need to download the registration and customer forms to complete.

It is important that you remember to pay all of your utility bills on time; otherwise you could be cut off and be required to pay re-connection fees. You might find it helpful to keep photocopies of your important documents so you are able to show them on demand.
