Palm Jumeirah really has caught the imagination of the Dubai Real Estate market, with a mixture of luxurious, high-end villas on the fronds, and luxury apartments. When you enter the Palm, you feel as if you are leaving behind the hustle and the bustle of Dubai Marina and the big city, and entering a whole new world – an island set apart from the rest of the Emirate.
The Palm Jumeirah is an artificial island created using land reclamation by Nakheel, a company owned by the Dubai government in United Arab Emirates and was designed and developed by the architects HHCP. It is one of two islands referred to as the Palm Islands (Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali) that extend into the Arabian Gulf. Together, they have increased Dubai’s shoreline by a total of 520km.
Palm Jebel Ali is currently under construction whilst a third planned island, Palm Deira has been remodelled and renamed Deira Island.
The Palm Jumeirah is the original and is, in fact, the smallest of the three planned Palm Islands. It is located on the Jumeirah coastal area of the emirate of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
